Restore Pro Plus
- Make sure your phone is signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy Pro Plus.
- Open GoBag Preppers and go to Profile → Upgrade to Pro Plus.
- Tap Restore purchases.
If you paid with a method that needs approval, such as Ask to Buy or a pending payment, Pro Plus unlocks once the payment completes.
Move your data to a new phone
GoBag Preppers has no accounts, so your data isn't synced. To move it:
- On your old phone, go to Profile → Backup & export and create an encrypted backup (Pro Plus). Choose a password you'll remember.
- Save the backup file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, such as cloud storage or email to yourself.
- On the new phone, install the app, go to Profile → Backup & export, choose Restore and enter your password. Restoring is free.
Alerts aren't showing
- Allow location access for GoBag Preppers in your phone's settings, then open the Alerts tab once so the app saves your position.
- Check the minimum severity for your alert area. Alerts below it won't send a notification.
- Detailed weather alerts come from the U.S. National Weather Service and cover the United States only. Earthquake and global disaster alerts work worldwide.
- Background checks depend on your phone. Battery saver and low-power modes can delay them. On Android, set battery usage for GoBag Preppers to "Unrestricted".
GoBag Preppers is not an official warning system. Keep your phone's government emergency alerts turned on.
Reminders aren't arriving
- Allow notifications for GoBag Preppers in your phone's settings.
- Check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing the app.
- To save battery, phones may deliver reminders a little late. On Android, setting battery usage for GoBag Preppers to "Unrestricted" helps.
Barcode scanning
Barcode scanning is part of Pro Plus. It reads standard product barcodes (EAN-13, UPC-A) and looks them up on Open Food Facts, a free community database. If a product isn't found, you can type its name in. For medical items with a GS1 DataMatrix code, the app reads the expiry date from the code itself.
I forgot my backup password
We're sorry. We can't help with this one. Backups are encrypted on your phone and we never see your password, so there's no way for anyone to reset it. If your old phone still has the app, create a new backup with a new password.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so they handle refunds:
- iPhone: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: Google Play refund help
If Pro Plus is refunded, nothing you created is deleted. Extra bags become read-only and Pro reminders pause.
